Andrew, director of Harvey
Shopfitters in Hanham, became
involved with woodchip when he was
trying to find a way to recycle
waste wood from his shop-fitting
business. He realised the problem
faced by local users of biomass when
he started converting the waste from
his own firm into wood chip and donating them to Kings Forest
School in Kingswood. He has first
hand understanding of how quality
woodfuel and guaranteed supply are
essential to ensure biomass boilers
can fulfil their potential. Andrew
was asked by Bristol City Council
and Regen Southwest to become a
director of Westwoods..
Westwoods Director - Mark Letcher
Mark Letcher is the founder and
Director of Climate Works Ltd (CWL)
a sustainable energy and climate
change consultancy based in Bristol.
CWL works with businesses, local and
national government and community
organizations to develop responses
and solutions to climate change,
energy security and fuel poverty.
Increasingly these include the use
of biomass as a source of low carbon
heat and electricity. Mark's
interest in Westwoods comes from a
recognition of the need to step-up
production now to meet an increasing
demand for high quality wood fuels
from local, and sustainable
woodlands as part of the shift to
low carbon ways of living and
working.
